Meet the Zoo's New Jellyfish
in the Aquatic & Reptile Center

Jellyfish

During your visit, make your way to the Aquatic & Reptile Center (ARC) to meet several of our new floating inhabitants now on display. Jellyfish have existed for more than 650 million years! The body of the jelly fish is soft, as it's made up of 98% water. Often times, they travel using jet propulsion, some are actually good swimmers, while others just drift with the ocean currents.

Jellyfish eat fish, and use their long, stinging poisonous tentacles to catch their prey. There are more than 200 species of true jellyfish, and they can be as small as a few inches in diameter to more than 8-feet across. There are a few species of jellyfish that actually glow in the dark!
