Meet the Zoo's New Bactrian Camel

Visit the Zoo to meet our newest camel, a male named Furlow.  Furlow was born on February 26 to mom Sanchi, and dad, Moses.  As of March 13, he weighed a healthy 135 pounds, and continues to grow!  Keepers report Furlow loves to romp in his outdoor yard, and usually tires himself out enough that he has to lay down and rest - often times alongside his dad.  This is the fourth offspring born to Sanchi and Moses.

All Bactrian camels are born grey, and we won't know the color of Furlow's coat until it grows in next fall.  He will stay at our for another year or so, before joining another AZA-accredited zoo.
