The Milwaukee County Zoo Celebrates Independence Day

New dinosaur species, citipati

Posted June 2015

In recognition of the July 4th holiday, the Milwaukee County Zoo will again offer $4 admission to all visitors on Saturday, July 4 (the parking fee of $12 still applies).

Families can spend quality time together on the holiday, enjoying all of the attractions the Zoo has to offer. During your visit, be sure to meet our rumbling new residents…more than 20 life-sized re-creations of varied dinosaur species!

Now through September 7, visit Expedition Dinosaur, sponsored by Sendik’s Food Markets, located outside behind our Small Mammals building ($2.50 per person). This dynamic traveling exhibit brings these prehistoric creatures to life, as they roar (and even spit!) in their tropical habitat. The crowd favorite, tyrannosaurus rex, makes a towering return engagement; and soon to be new favorites include the diabloceratops and the intriguing and feathered citipati.

The Zoo is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 4.  For more information, contact the Zoo’s Public Affairs and Services Division at 414.771.3040.
