Stearns Family Apes of Africa Building
The Apes of Africa Building was constructed in 1992-1993. It simulates a tropical rainforest setting, and is the home of two successful endangered species breeding programs. The Western Lowland Gorillas, have successfully produced one offspring; and the even more endangered Pygmy Chimpanzees, also known as Bonobos, have successfully produced two offspring in recent years.
