Senior Celebration

Who said the Zoo is just for kids? The Milwaukee County Zoo invites all seniors age 55+ to enjoy the wonders of the Zoo on Friday, August 31 for Senior Celebration, sponsored by St. Camillus, A Life Plan Community. All seniors receive free admission (proof of age required) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to relive their favorite childhood memories, and make new ones. In honor of Senior Celebration, the Zoo is offering engaging fun-filled activities for guests to participate in, including:

  • Health and Wellness Fair: Stay healthy and meet over 40 local organizations in the Peck Welcome Center to learn about health and wellness. You’ll stay moving and grooving for years to come!
  • Senior CelebrationDancing Demos: Yeehaw! Put on cowboy boots and hat for an energized 15-minute line dancing demo led by the YMCA. 10:30 a.m.
  • Fun Walk: Walking has never been more enjoyable! Join us at 10:30 a.m. for a 1-mile walk through the Zoo hosted by Wisconsin Senior Olympics. 
  • Train Ride: Help celebrate the train’s 60th year at the Zoo and see the grounds from a different perspective for a reduced price of $2!
  • Senior CelebrationBingo: Bingo is fun for all ages! Let your competitive side out and see if you can win a game or two. 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., Noon to 1 p.m.
  • Entertainment: Take a break and relax with live music!

Relive your favorite childhood memories by visiting the Milwaukee County Zoo. Make sure to say hello to some of our newest residents including Maya, the giraffe; Milo, the harbor seal and the otters!
