Senior Celebration

The Milwaukee County Zoo invites all seniors, 55 and older, to join us on Friday, August 30, for Senior Celebration, sponsored by Wheaton Franciscan Senior Health, when seniors will receive free admission from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (proof of age required). We’ve planned some very special activities for seniors including:

  • Wheaton Franciscan Senior Health: This group is proud to present their services to seniors. To learn more, visit their Outreach Booth at the U.S. Bank Gathering Place.
  • Health and Wellness Exhibitors: More than 30 exhibitors will be displayed in the Peck Welcome Center. Vision, blood pressure and balance screenings will be available!
  • Bingo: Try your luck from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tickets not required.
  • Music: Enjoy sounds from yesteryear courtesy of Jimmy Madritsch, The Revomatics and the Jeff Winard Band. All entertainment sponsored by Humana.
  • Fun Walk: Join Wisconsin Senior Olympics for a scenic 1-mile walk through the Zoo.
  • Master Gardeners: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Visit the Zoo gardens to learn helpful tips about keeping flowers and plants thriving throughout the season.
  • Yummy Treats: Complimentary cookies and coffee for the first 4,000 visitors. Free ice cream (while supplies last) sponsored by San Camillo. A limited supply of box lunches will be available for purchase. Lunches include a roast turkey and provolone cheese sandwich on a wheat bun, pasta salad cup, fruit, animal crackers, chips and soda.
  • Sting Ray & Shark Bay, sponsored by Sendik’s Food Markets: Visit our special summer exhibit to feed and pet our rays! Exhibit includes cownose rays, diamond-shaped southern rays, harmless 3-foot long white-spotted bamboo and bonnethead sharks and horseshoe crabs. $2
  • Endless Activities: All Zoo rides and attractions are open during Senior Celebration. Hop aboard the Safari Train, sponsored by North Shore Bank, or watch the Seal/Sea Lion show, sponsored by Supercuts. So many things to do – come early and stay all day!
