Who said the Zoo is just for kids? The Milwaukee County Zoo invites all seniors age 55+ to enjoy a day of fun and entertainment on Wednesday, August 31, during Senior Celebration, sponsored by St. Camillus Life Plan Community. All seniors (and caretakers) receive free admission (proof of age required) to come relive their childhood memories and make new ones!

In honor of Senior Celebration, the Zoo is offering special, fun-filled activities for guests to participate in, including:

  • St. Camillus Senior Health Outreach
    Start your day with a complimentary apple from St. Camillus, while supplies last. Then visit their booth to learn about senior services and meet St. Camillus personnel. Register for door prizes! Free tote bags for the first 750 visitors.
    Box Lunches: Your choice of ham & Swiss or turkey & cheddar, with chips and a cookie, for $6.95. Available at the Flamingo Coffee Shop, while supplies last.

  • Entertainment sponsored by Network Health
    9:30 a.m.–1 p.m.: Jeff Winard (polka) – at the Flamingo Gazebo
    9:30 a.m.–1 p.m.: Close Enuf (oldies) – at the Generac Zoo Terrace

    Join in the fun and take part in this popular game for all ages!

  • Fun Walk
    At 10:30 a.m., join us for a fun 1-mile walk through the Zoo presented by Wisconsin Senior Olympics.

  • Gardens Galore
    Visit the Zoo gardens and learn helpful gardening tips from Master Gardeners.

  • Kohl’s Wild Theater
    Professional performers present 15-minute, conservation-themed shows using drama, songs, and puppetry that inspire and empower visitors to care about our natural world.

  • Dino Don’s Dragon Kingdom sponsored by Sendik’s Food Market
    Enter an enchanting mythical world with more than 15 awesome, animatronic creatures. Ranging in size from 10 to 40 feet, marvel at the dragons’ wildlife features that tie-in their existence to animals of the natural world and those on the brink of extinction today.

    Meijer Zoo Expeditions
    Join the Zoo Expedition team for guided expeditions throughout the Zoo. The Signature Expedition departs every 30 minutes starting at the top of the hour.

    Hop aboard our legendary Zoo Train and see the park from a new perspective!
    Opens at 10 a.m. / $4
