It’s January – a New Year! Grab your sweater, scarf and socks and start the month off with a free visit to the Zoo!

Family Free Day, sponsored by North Shore Bank and WITI FOX6, offers all visitors FREE admission. The parking fee of $15 remains in effect.

Masks are required for all visitors ages 3+.


  • Jaguar Stella

    See jaguars Stella and her offspring, Francisco.  Stella has green eyes and a smaller nose than Frankie, and Stella’s eyes are green, while Frankie’s are blue.

    Jaguars are powerfully built, with large, square jaws and prominent cheeks. They are built for power, not speed, although they can run for brief bursts.

  • Red panda, KikiTry to catch a glimpse of red panda, Kiki, in her outdoor habitat, as red pandas prefer cooler temperatures.  Kiki will turn 2 years old in June 2021.

    Fun Fact:  Red pandas’ tails are almost half of their total body length!

  • Take a tropical turn into the Aviary’s Free Flight habitat to visit the Baikal teal.  The Baikal teal is among a group of ducks known as dabbling ducks, named for the way they feed while on the water.Baikal teal  Rather than diving, dabbling ducks tip their bodies so they can feed on underwater plants and invertebrates.

    These beautiful birds migrate seasonally, typically travelling between north and east Siberia to southeast China. The birds travel to Siberia, Russia to breed in the summer, and migrate to southern Japan, and China and South Korea in winter.
