Open seven days a week, 365 days a year, we have events for all seasons. Below is a list of our upcoming events. Check back regularly to see what's happening.

Mar 13 & 14

This event, held just once a year, allows visitors access to areas not normally open to the public. You’ll see what the vampire bats like to dine on, and where the warm-weather animals reside during our Wisconsin winters! All tours are free with regular admission.

Mar 27 & 28

Get an early start celebrating Easter with the famous bunny, as he shares a meal with kids and families. Bookings begin March 1. Breakfast and lunch is served on Saturday; lunch only on Sunday.

Egg Day

Bunnies and chicks and bears, oh my! Celebrate Easter with a host of hoppin’ activities including the Bunny Treat Search, colorful crafts, face painting, and bubble art!

Girl scouts of Wisconsin are invited to earn their Zoo patches today! Scouts can visit the animal collection and join in self-guided tours showcasing conservation and the importance of zoos.

Share in Mom’s Day with a trip to the Zoo! All mothers receive free admission.

Party for the Planet

“Go Green” in 2010, and help us preserve our planet for future generations. Activities include animal talks, hands-on demonstrations of conservation initiatives and outreach booths.

Adventure Dinosaur!

Venture into our prehistoric park, featuring more than 25 realistic dinosaurs – lurking, moving and rumbling in a tropical outdoor habitat. Come face to face with a Tyrannosaurus rex and baby, or a daunting Dilophosaurus. Cost: $2.50.

Scouting the Zoo

The Zoo shines with creativity and resourcefulness as the Milwaukee County Council of Boy Scouts share their skills through special demonstrations.

Father's Day at the Zoo

Now it’s dad’s turn to enjoy the Zoo for free! All fathers are admitted free to celebrate the day!

Sunset Zoofari

Enjoy a warm summer evening of hot bands at the Zoo! Concerts take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the Flamingo patio, against the backdrop of our exotic animals. Reduced admission.

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel a la Carte

Milwaukee summers wouldn’t be complete without our annual “Feast with the Beasts” food and music festival! Enjoy performances from some of the hottest local and national bands, while feasting on delicious fare from more than 25 area restaurants. The Zoo is open extended hours.

Senior Celebration

Seniors are the stars, as they enjoy a day uniquely designed for their interests. Take part in health and wellness outreach booths, entertainment and bingo. Guests 55 and older are admitted free

Family Farm Weekend

This weekend is devoted to the rich farming heritage of our state. The cornucopia of activity includes a children’s tractor-pull contest, cooking demonstrations and down-home entertainment.

Boo at the Zoo

The Zoo comes alive with Halloween hauntings during this “not-too-spooky” event! Wind your way through our haystack maze, ride the “Raven’s Rail,” create your own Origami bat and more!

Wolf Awareness Day at the Zoo

Wolves have always been shrouded in mystery. Today, you’ll come to a better understanding of these precious animals, and the role they play in our natural world. See the pack take their daily feeding, see the enrichment items that keep them active and join in our howling contest.

Halloween Trick-or-Treat Spooktacular

The Zoo is the place to trick-or-treat among the animals! Halloween fun includes a costume parade, musical illumination show and bat presentations in the Small Mammal Building.

Breakfast and Lunch with Santa

It’s the most wonderful time of year when Santa shares a meal with kids! Enjoy breakfast or lunch, musical fun and a special holiday gift. Lunch served both days; breakfast Saturdays only.
