Milwaukee County Zoo Tiger Names Contest Rules

OFFICIAL RULES
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.

THE FOLLOWING NAMING CONTEST IS INTENDED FOR PLAY IN THE 50 UNITED STATES AND DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA ONLY AND SHALL BE CONSTRUED AND EVALUATED ACCORDING TO UNITED STATES LAW. DO NOT ENTER THIS CONTEST UNLESS YOU ARE 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER AND ARE A LEGAL RESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.

The Milwaukee County Zoo Tiger Naming Contest (“contest”) starts at 12 noon central time on October 6, 2009, and ends at 11:59:59 a.m. central time on October 23, 2009.  Contest sponsored and administered by the Milwaukee County Zoo (also referred to hereafter as the “Sponsor”).  

Contest entries must contain two names.  One for each tiger Entries with names considered inappropriate by the sponsor or containing more or less than two names will be disqualified.  

ELIGIBILITY: Offered only in the 50 United States and the District of Columbia to legal residents of the U.S. who, at the time of entry, are 18 years of age or older. If an entrant is under the age of majority in his or her state of residence (21 if a MS resident, 19 if an AL, NE, or PA resident, 18 in all other states), entrant must obtain their parent’s or legal guardian’s consent prior to entering or submitting any personally identifiable information. Employees of the Milwaukee County Zoo and members of their immediate families (spouses, children, siblings, parents) and persons living in the same household as such persons, whether or not related, are not eligible to enter. 

HOW TO ENTER: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. There are two ways to enter: 1) visit www.milwaukeezoo.org/tigernames between 12:00 noon central time on October 6, 2009 and 11:59:59 a.m. central time on October 23, 2009, and follow the online instructions, or 2) print your name, email address, and mailing address on an 8.5” • X 11” piece of paper and mail it to: Milwaukee County Zoo, Tiger Naming Contest, 10001 West Blue Mound Road, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 53226.

All entries must be posted or postmarked by 11:59:59 a.m. central time on October 23, 2009. Limit one entry per individual, household, or e-mail address per week. If you submit more than one entry per week, only the entry that is received first will be accepted. In the event of a dispute as to who submitted an online entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address. The authorized account holder is the natural person or organization assigned to the e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization, or the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.

All entries become the property of Sponsor. No correspondence about entries will be entered into. If a problem occurs in the submission process you should receive an "Error" message.

However, the responsibility to electronically forward the entry is the entrant's and the sponsor shall not be responsible for any entry not actually received due to incomplete or improper transmission. Similarly, the sponsor has no obligation to advise entrant of an incomplete submission.

Sponsor is not responsible for late or incomplete entries. Sponsor may prohibit you from participation in the Contests if, at their sole discretion, you show a disregard for, or attempt to circumvent, these Official Rules, or act: (a) in a manner that affects the administration, security, fairness or proper play or conduct of the Contest in any way; (b) with an intent to annoy, threaten or harass any other entrant or the Sponsor; or (c) in any other disruptive manner.
 
WINNER SELECTION: At the end of the official contest period, a committee chosen by the sponsor will pick the entry with the two names that the committee feels best suits the animals. 

Contest End Date:  October 23, 2009

WINNER NOTIFICATION: Winners will be notified by e-mail or First-Class Mail  

GENERAL CONDITIONS:  Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth in these Official Rules. By entering this Contest, participants agree: (a) to be bound by these Official Rules and all decisions of the Milwaukee County Zoo which shall be final and binding, and (b) that the Milwaukee County Zoo, Milwaukee County, their affiliates and subsidiaries, their respective officers, directors, agents, and employees are not responsible for and shall not be liable for: (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information associated with or utilized in the Contest, whether caused by website users, tampering, hacking, or any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest; (2) any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or unauthorized access to the website or in any material associated with the Contest; (3) any injury, damage, or loss to participants’ or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in this Contest or downloading materials from, or otherwise using, the website; (4) telephone, electronic, hardware or software program, network, internet or computer malfunctions, failures or difficulties; (5) any design, typographical or other errors in any materials associated with the Contest; (6) garbled, illegible, incomplete, damaged, misdirected, late, lost, postage due, undelivered, or unprocessed entries; (7) any condition caused by events beyond the control of the Sponsor which may cause the Contest to be disrupted or corrupted; or (8) any loss, injury or damage of any kind caused by participation in this Contest, or by the acceptance and/or use of any prize. 

If for any reason this Contest is not capable of running as planned, or if this contest or any website associated therewith (or any portion thereof) becomes corrupted or does not allow the proper playing of this contest and processing of entries per these rules, or if infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, actions by entrants, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes, in the Milwaukee County Zoo’s sole opinion, corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this contest, the Milwaukee County Zoo reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual implicated in such action, and/or to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this contest or any portion thereof. 

USE OF ENTRY INFORMATION: By entering this contest you give your consent for the Milwaukee County Zoo to enter your entry form information into a database for the purpose of administering this contest and for future correspondence purposes as outlined in our Privacy Policy, found here. You may opt out at any time. Only the Milwaukee County Zoo will have access to this personal information.

WHO WON:  The winner will be announced at the Milwaukee County at a time determined to be agreeable to winner and the sponsor.
