Zoo history was made on July 3rd, when an Adelie penguin was hatched for the first time in captivity. She was named Little America in celebration of Independence Day and lived for 41 days. The chick died due to the ingestion of a sharp stone. Three years later, another Adelie penguin was hatched and lived to maturity. |
